Paul set up Capital Financial Markets Limited in 2013 having previously worked at Greig Middleton, Redmayne Bentley and Fielding’s Investment Management, managing private client investment portfolio’s.
Our aim is to provide a personal level of service to Private Clients and to invest in the systems we deliver this service. Much of the industry offers one size fits all model portfolio’s but we are committed to providing a portfolio management service tailored to you.
Paul is particularly interested in Investment Trusts as a way of investing for clients and has extensive knowledge of this area of the stock market. He also spends a lot of time researching stocks.
Andrew has 20 years of experience working in the City of London. He started his career at Merrill Lynch before moving on to hold senior positions at both Investec Bank & Macquarie Group. Andrew is currently working as an advisor to a family office in London and joined CFM as a board director in late 2018.
Stephen has been an Investment manager, managing portfolios for over 20 years.
He started his career with Durlacher, then spent 16 years with Walker Crips Plc, prior to joining Capital Financial Markets in 2017
Barrie Newton is an Investment Manager and serves on the Investment Committee. Barrie obtained a BA Combined Honours Economics with Geography from University of Exeter. He obtained a MSc by Research (taken part time) from the School of Management at University of Bath (1969-1974). Barrie joined B S Stock Son & Co in 1969 as a trainee stock broker and became a partner in 1975. He remained a partner and subsequently became Head of Research with the succeeding companies, Stock & Orme and Stock Beech & Co Ltd. Barrie was responsible for smaller company research and corporate fund raising as well as some private client work. Barrie left Stock Beech in 1990 to co-found Rowan Dartington. Barrie, acting in the role of Managing Director, helped to develop the business to be a highly profitable and well diversified regional stockbroker, fund manager and major participant in AIM corporate finance. Barrie ran the largest and most successful client fund which outperformed its benchmark for 14 out of 15 years. Barrie concluded the sale of Rowan Dartington in 2006 and joined Slater Investments in 2008 where he continues to work alongside Capital Financial Markets.
Michael’s career began in 1973 at Berger and Gosschalk. Taken over by Akroyd and Smithers in 1976, Michael then became a member of the London Stock Exchange in 1980.
In 1986 Michael was approached by Chase Manhattan, where he held the position of Associate Director. He then moved onto Nat West Bank in 1989. He has since held positions within a variety of other financial institutions and brings a wealth of stockbroking experience to CFM.
Toby joined us after 15 years in the legal industry as a barristers clerk, in both criminal and civil law. There, he was a very effective operations manager. He assists Paul Coffin with day to day matters, and is also our office manager. He is also taking the PCIAM Investment Examinations
